Biography

Jaime A. Heidel was born with a pen in her hand a story to tell. An only child, Jaime was a solitary and serious little girl who preferred reading and quiet play to the boisterous activities of other children. At the age of seven she wrote her first short story and recalls her father taking her aside to reprimand her for plagiarizing.

“It was the best compliment I could have received, though I didn’t think so at the time,” Jaime says.

After all, if she were being scolded for supposedly copying the work of another author, it must have been a good story!

Jaime continued to write short stories into her mid-teens, focusing on the horror/thriller genre. When she shared the work with her family and friends, they encouraged her to take writing classes. Branching out into poetry at sixteen, Jaime found another, less restrictive outlet for her creative muse, which later led to songwriting in her early twenties.

In 2002, Jaime began penning the lyrics to her first album, Mythillogical and released the CD under the name Ethereal in 2005.
